Fundamentals of Blues Rhythm Guitar
Level 1
This workshop is an introductory course in blues guitar playing. We will cover minor and major blues scales, string bending and vibrato; on blues chording and rhythms, and song structure. Students will come away with a strong understanding of how blues is played and will be playing the blues before the weekend is over. Familiarity with at least first position chords is expected.
It’s Tuna Time
Level 1
This workshop is an introductory course in blues guitar playing as it applies to Hot Tuna songs. We will look at songs such as “Hesitation Blues,” “Keep on Truckin’”, “I See The Light,” “Death Don’t Have No Mercy,” “Another Man Done Gone,” “How Long Blues” and others. We will cover minor and major blues scales, string bending and vibrato. We will also look at blues chording, rhythms and song structure. Students will come away with a strong understanding of how blues is played and how it applies to Hot Tuna songs.
Students will play these Hot Tuna songs and more before the weekend is over. Familiarity with at least first position chords is expected.

Guitarist/singer/songwriter Michael Falzarano has been a working musician for the past 35 years, most notably in Hot Tuna, the famed offspring of The Jefferson Airplane, and in The Memphis Pilgrims, a Memphis-style rock'n'roll/blues band that he founded in 1986. Presently he can be seen on the road with The New Riders of The Purple Sage, and has recently signed with Blues Planet Records.Michael has taught guitar in privately, and teaches regularly at Fur Peace Ranch with classes in Blues and his famous Jamstock sessions. Besides being an accomplished performer, Michael brings his experience and rock'n'roll roots together in his expert workshops.
